Abstract

Coronary heart disease (CHD) and atrial fibrillation (AF) occupy leading positions in the structure of cardiovascular morbidity, mortality and disability of the population worldwide [1]. According to large epidemiological studies, the prevalence of AF in the general adult population ranges from 1 to 2%, with a sharp increase in rates in older age groups [2; 3]. In the context of global population aging, a further increase in the number of patients with AF is predicted, which is considered one of the key public health problems [2; 3].
