STUDY OF ANTICONVULSANT ACTIVITY OF COUMARINS ISOLATED FROM PLANTS Haplophyllum obtusifolium and Haplophyllum perforatum

Abstract

In this article, coumarins isolated from the plants Haplophyllum obtusifolium and Haplophyllum perforatum were studied, and it was found that obtusinin is less toxic and has a pronounced sedative effect. The mechanism of anticonvulsant action of obtusinin is associated with antagonism to nicotine-sensitive receptors, a decrease in the activity of the cholinergic system and, possibly, an increase in the activity of the GAMK system.
