Abstract

This study examines the process of the abolition of the Khiva Khanate by the Red Army in 1920. This event represented a significant stage in the establishment of Soviet power in Central Asia and was carried out through military force and political pressure. As a result, the khanate system was dismantled and replaced by a new Soviet governance structure, leading to the formation of the Khorezm People's Soviet Republic. This process is notable for the profound transformations it brought to the political, social, and economic life of the region.
