Abstract

This article comprehensively examines the prospects for developing the tourism economy in Uzbekistan based on its historical heritage. The study analyzes the country’s rich historical and cultural resources, including architectural monuments, historic cities, and national traditions, as key factors in tourism development. It also highlights the economic significance of the tourism sector, its impact on regional development, its role in job creation, and its multiplicative effects on other sectors of the economy. Based on a review of scientific literature, the article explores existing approaches to tourism development and identifies their advantages and limitations. During the research process, PEST and SWOT analysis methods were applied to determine the political, economic, social, and technological factors influencing tourism development, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the sector. The results indicate that although Uzbekistan has significant potential for tourism development, it is necessary to improve infrastructure, enhance service quality, and introduce modern technologies. The article also emphasizes the importance of preserving and restoring historical monuments and promoting them at the international level. It is substantiated that sustainable tourism development can be ensured through the implementation of green economy principles, the development of tourism culture, and the strengthening of cooperation between the public and private sectors. Based on the findings, practical recommendations for the development of the tourism economy are proposed.
