Abstract

This study investigates the impact of industrial wastewater and anthropogenic factors on the water quality of the Qoradaryo River based on a comprehensive ecological assessment. Water samples collected from the upper and lower reaches of the river were analyzed for physicochemical parameters (pH, BOD, COD), nutrients (nitrates, ammonium ions), and iron content. The results indicate relatively stable water quality in the upper reaches, while significant deterioration was observed in the lower reaches. Elevated concentrations of organic matter and nitrogen compounds contribute to eutrophication, leading to oxygen depletion and reduced biodiversity in the aquatic ecosystem. Based on the findings, recommendations are proposed for improving water protection, enhancing wastewater treatment, and strengthening environmental monitoring systems.
