Abstract

This article explores the innovative integration of authentic Korean language materials with flexible learning technologies to develop learners’ intercultural communication competence. By combining rich Korean cultural resources (K-dramas, K-pop, contemporary media, and literary texts) with adaptive digital platforms, AI-driven personalization, virtual reality, and blended learning environments, the study demonstrates how learners can achieve deeper cultural understanding, pragmatic awareness, and communicative adaptability. The research highlights the effectiveness of this approach in fostering cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions of intercultural competence while addressing the challenges of modern global education. The findings underscore the potential of flexible technologies to create personalized, immersive, and inclusive learning experiences that prepare learners for successful cross-cultural interactions in an interconnected world.
