Abstract
This article describes adsorption methods for removing aromatic hydrocarbons from diesel fuel. It is shown that adsorption dearomatization of diesel fuel using the optimal silica gel sorbent KSK-2, selectively activated for aromatic hydrocarbons, can produce diesel fuel that meets European specifications. An industrial process for separating aromatics from various petroleum fractions in a fixed-bed silica gel is demonstrated.
