Abstract

Osteoporosis is a common chronic pathology of the musculoskeletal system, manifested by a decrease in bone mineralization and a disruption of tissue structure. These changes reduce bone strength, leading to the development of fractures of varying severity. Along with the increase in human life expectancy, the prevalence of the disease is accelerating, making it one of the global medical problems. The clinical picture of osteoporosis is not limited solely to pain and movement difficulties, but can also lead to disability and even death. This research paper examines the main etiopathogenetic mechanisms that cause the development of osteoporosis in the context of postmenopausal osteoarthritis.
