Abstract
This article explores the linguistic issues involved in preserving national spirit and historical color in the translation of historical works. It analyzes the challenges translators face when conveying cultural identity, historical atmosphere, and national characteristics from the source language into the target language. The study discusses the importance of lexical choices, stylistic features, historical terms, and culturally specific expressions in maintaining the authenticity of historical texts. Furthermore, the article highlights effective translation strategies that help preserve both the semantic meaning and the cultural-historical essence of original works.
