Abstract
This article describes the types of international studies on the assessment of the quality and results of education, the work being carried out to organize international studies in the field of assessing the quality of education in the public education system of our Republic, PISA, TIMSS studies and their significance in the formation of students' natural and scientific literacy in geography lessons. The article also presents examples of TIMSS tasks on knowledge, application, and reasoning used in geography lessons.
