Assessment of clinical prognostic factors in acute myocarditis in children

Abstract

Acute myocarditis (AM) is an inflammatory lesion of the myocardium that develops under the influence of various infectious agents, among which viruses play the leading role. The pathophysiological mechanisms of AM include direct myocardial injury caused by viral infection, the development of post-infectious inflammatory responses, or a combination of both processes.
