Abstract

This article analyzes new approaches to combat one of the most pressing problems of modern medicine - clostridial infections, in particular diseases caused by Clostridioides difficile. Due to the ineffectiveness of traditional antibiotic therapy and the increasing number of relapses (recurrence of the disease), the article highlights the clinical significance of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), immunotherapy, and new generation probiotics. Also, innovative methods aimed at neutralizing clostridial toxins and increasing the effectiveness of treatment by restoring the microbiome are considered based on scientific evidence.
