Abstract
The fast evolution of digital technologies such as AI technology has significantly impacted academic writing and scientific research. More and more researchers, students, and tutors use digital technologies and different platforms to gather information, cite sources, conduct analyses, collaborate with other scientists, which facilitates research and improves its quality. The aim of the current paper is to identify the methodology related to digital technologies used in academic writing and scientific research. First of all, there is an analysis of various types of digital technologies, their role in the research process, strengths, weaknesses, and potential ethical concerns associated with their implementation. Secondly, the paper identifies methods of integrating digital technologies into research activities in a proper way. The conclusion is made that digital technologies become extremely important within a modern academic environment. According to the findings presented in the paper, there should be significant modifications to the approach to writing based on teachers' and students' attitudes toward digital technologies, particularly towards feedback provided by digital tools.
