Abstract
This article addresses the problem of improving the technology for transferring cotton raw material to open and closed storage facilities. The study analyzes the feasibility of cleaning cotton raw material from impurities prior to stacking, by installing a spiked drum and a grid surface on a KLP-650 belt conveyor. Quality indicators of cotton raw material, the nature and impact of impurities, and international best practices are examined. Production trial results at the Pop Cotton Gin (Namangan region, Uzbekistan) demonstrate that the proposed technology reduces the absolute contamination level by 6.3%, the relative contamination level by 54.2%, and upgrades cotton quality by one grade.
