Abstract

Standardized English language materials often fail to engage learners or support authentic communication. This article examines how creative approaches-storytelling, gamified exercises, role-play scenarios, and multimedia projects can reshape material design. Grounded in sociocultural theory and the input hypothesis, supported by a pilot study with fifty adult ESL learners, it shows measurable gains in oral proficiency, writing accuracy, and motivation. A five-stage framework is proposed for curriculum designers.
