The article examines the problem of speech development in children with general speech underdevelopment (GSU) in the context of using creative activities in corrective speech therapy work. The effectiveness of creative types of activity as a means of stimulating speech activity, developing motivation for communication, enriching vocabulary, and improving coherent speech in children with GSU is substantiated. Special attention is paid to the neuropsychological mechanisms of the influence of creativity on speech development, including the development of fine motor skills, interhemispheric interaction, and symbolic function. The importance of using creative methods in the conditions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, characterized by a multilingual educational environment and pronounced sociocultural features, is emphasized. The use of elements of the region’s national culture is considered a factor in increasing the effectiveness of corrective work and creating emotionally comfortable learning conditions. The article concludes that it is advisable to integrate creative activities into the system of corrective and developmental support for children with GSU in educational institutions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
