Abstract

This article analyzes the scientific and theoretical foundations of conceptual studies in linguistics, focusing on the formation of the notion of concept, its cognitive and linguocultural characteristics, and its role in modern linguistic research. The study highlights the importance of the concept as a key unit reflecting the relationship between language and thought, while also examining the main principles of conceptual approaches in contemporary linguistics. Various scholarly views related to conceptual studies are comparatively analyzed, and the significance of concepts in representing national and cultural meanings is revealed. The article contributes to the systematization of theoretical approaches in cognitive linguistics, linguoculturology, and conceptology.
