Abstract

This article analyzes the interrelationship between fiction and journalism, as well as their genre features, from theoretical and practical perspectives. The article pays special attention to the common aspects of these two fields — sociality, imagery, impressiveness, and the expression of the author’s position — as well as to their distinctive features. In particular, it is substantiated that while aesthetic depiction and artistic fiction are predominant in fiction, in journalism promptness, accuracy, and coverage of social problems based on real-life facts occupy an important place.
