Abstract
this article examines the pedagogical and psychological foundations for the formation and development of students' intellectual abilities in primary school mathematics lessons. the interrelation of cognitive processes in primary school children, particularly logical thinking, attention, and memory, with the content of the mathematics subject is analyzed. the article highlights key factors contributing to the enhancement of students' intellectual potential, including didactic teaching tools and the methodological skills of the teacher.
