Abstract
The polysemy of words in the Arabic language and the change in the meaning of words are the result of the historical development of the Arab people. The formation of polysemantic words and the transition of the meaning of a word from one meaning to another were directly influenced by the social environment and worldview, culture and traditions of the Arab people. Other languages are also related to this phenomenon. This article provides detailed information about the features of the phenomenon of polysemy in the Arabic language and the changes in the meaning of words in the Arabic language with examples.
