Abstract
This article discusses the theoretical foundations of methods for the local investigation of functions. Special attention is given to the role of derivatives, continuity, extrema, monotonicity, concavity, and inflection points in the analysis of functions. The article also explains the practical importance of local investigation methods in mathematical analysis and their applications in science, engineering, economics, and technology. Furthermore, the relationship between graphical interpretation and analytical investigation of functions is described.
