Cholpon’s Educational Activities and The Description of His Textbooks and Anthologies
Abstract
The article provides a scholarly analysis of the organizational activities and pedagogical views of Abdulhamid Sulaymon oglu Cholpon in the fields of schooling, public education, and instruction. Based on the Jadid writer's early-period articles, travelogues, and newly discovered archival documents, data regarding the establishment of new-method (usul-i jadid) schools and libraries are investigated, and materials concerning his personal activities in teaching and library management are annotated. Furthermore, the paper elucidates Cholpon’s participation in associations under the Commissariat of Public Education, such as "Waqf", "Nashri Maarif", and "Komek", specifically highlighting his role as an initiator of material and financial assistance to local students studying abroad.
