Abstract
Socket preservation following tooth extraction represents one of the most important challenges in modern dental surgery and implantology. The physiological process of post-extraction bone resorption may lead to reduction of the buccolingual dimension of the alveolar ridge by up to 50% within the first year, potentially compromising future prosthetic rehabilitation, particularly placement of dental implants.
