Abstract

Virtual reality technology has emerged as a revolutionary tool in the field of digital preservation of cultural heritage, enabling accurate reconstruction and interactive engagement with historical artifacts and environments. This article examines the application of virtual reality for cultural heritage preservation through the creation of immersive environments that reproduce architectural structures and artifacts with a high degree of fidelity. Using advanced computational methods such as radial basis function interpolation and dynamic 3D modeling, the study demonstrates the effectiveness of virtual reality in protecting historical data and enhancing public engagement. In addition, the research highlights the role of virtual reality in addressing key preservation challenges, including the reduction of physical wear on original artifacts and the expansion of access to cultural assets for a global audience. Special attention is paid to the integration of VR systems with digital archives, museum information systems, and educational platforms. The proposed approach contributes to the formation of sustainable digital ecosystems for cultural heritage management, supporting long-term preservation, interdisciplinary research, and the dissemination of cultural knowledge. By combining innovative modeling techniques with interactive user interfaces, this work provides a comprehensive framework for the practical implementation of virtual reality technologies in the digital preservation of cultural heritage.
