Adapting to Climate Change in Europe and Central Asia

Abstract

This article is a summary of a recent World bank publication by the same authors which explored the impact of climate change on water utilties in eastern Europe and central Asia. The impact of climate change is likely to be dwarfed by the immense investment backlog faced by most of these utilties but this provides an opportunity to build-in climate adaptation as utilities seek to reinvest and extend their services.
