Abstract
The antimicrobical potential of Glycyrrhiza glabra Linn. against certain microorganisms was studied using agar diffusion method. The aqueous and ethanolic extract of G. glabra roots significantly inhibited the growth of microorganisms as compared to standard bactericide and fungicide drugs. Diethyl ether fraction exhibited prominent fungicidal activity against Candida albicans . Gentamycin, streptomycin and fluconazole were used as positive controls.
