Numerical Methods for Scientists and Engineers

Abstract

It might be either hoped or feared that a book with this title would merely give some numerical mathematics suitably watered down for digestion by weaker stomachs or for preservation in weaker vessels. The truth is very different—this book has much valuable material not to be found elsewhere, and gives as much attention to the philosophy of computing as to its technique.
