Abstract

at 298 K. RLE behaved as a mixed-type inhibitor based on the cathode. The inhibition mechanism involved the adsorption of the active ingredients of RLE on the mild steel surface to prevent corrosion. The adsorption followed the Langmuir adsorption isotherm, and physical and chemical adsorption coexisted. The results were supported by SEM, quantum chemical calculations, FTIR and UV-visible spectroscopy analyses.
