Abstract

The present investigation is reported by considering bioconvection phenomenon in nanofluids saturated over non-Darcian porous medium with viscous dissipation and ohmic heating. Motile gyrotactic micro-organisms were assumed to be swimming in the upward direction. The governing equations were converted to nonlinear ordinary differential equations by similarity transformation and solved with the help of a Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg scheme using shooting technique. Graphical plotting of various physical parameters is done for velocity, temperature, concentration, and density of motile gyrotactic micro-organisms. It is found that density of motile micro-organisms decreases for bioconvection and Peclet number. Further, porous parameter and inertia coefficient have reducing effects for the velocity profile. A comparison of the present study with previous work is conducted to validate the code.
