Abstract

Lipids, separated by thin-layer chromatography, are oxidized in an acid dichromate solution. The reduction in absorbance at 350 mμ is proportional to the amount of lipid. One reagent suffices to quantify all lipid classes to a lower limit of 15 μg of lipid.
