A new freshwater copepod, <i>Mesocyclops brevisetosus</i> sp.nov. (Crustacea, Cyclopoida) from Kalimantan, Indonesia

Abstract

A new species, Mesocyclops brevisetosus sp.nov., is described from Kalimantan, Indonesia. It has features intermediate between the genera Mesocyclops and Thermocyclops. The ratio of internal to external furcal seta length, the shape of the receptaculum seminis, and the unequal terminal P4 endopodite spines constitute a unique diagnostic combination.
