Consideration of core polarization, meson exchange, and relativistic corrections gives a satisfactory, quantitative understanding of mirror Gamow-Teller $\ensuremath{\beta}$-transitions in $A=3, 15, 17, 39, \mathrm{and} 41$ nuclei.
