An Openness Condition for the Controllability of Nonlinear Systems

Abstract
In this paper we study the stability of the controllability property of a system under a general class of state space and system deformations. The main result is a sufficient condition of openness. A corollary shows how this result can be compared to that given by Sussmann [J. Differential Equations, 20 (1976), pp. 292–315]. Some illustravtive examples are given.
