Abstract

This article discusses the issues of linearization of the spectral characteristics of fiber-optic transmission systems (FOTS) information. It has been found that the combined use of an amplifier, such as a runing wave amplifier (RWA), and an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) allows linearizing the transmission spectral characteristics of a FOTS. Linearization results in a reduction of distortion of the optical spectrum and can increase the rate of transmitted information.
