Abstract

Since enhanced power solitons are usually applied in dispersion-managed soliton systems, it might be expected that dispersion-managed solitons have a stronger resistance to polarisation-mode dispersion than conventional solitons. However, it is shown that dispersion-managed solitons behave similarly to conventional solitons in terms of resistance to polarisation-mode dispersion.
