Improved description of the Roper resonance in a constituent quark model

Abstract
Within a semirelativistic constituent quark model based on linear confinement, we propose a new radial form for the main component of the Roper resonance. This lowers its position by about 100 MeV compared to previous studies, where the radial excitation was of harmonic-oscillator type, and brings it much closer to the experiment.
