Abstract

Present paper describes the use of a generalized model of cubo-octahedral structure to determine the melting temperature of CdS nano semiconductor with various shapes and sizes, including nanosolid, nanowire and nanofilm. The model predicts that the melting temperature of the CdS nano semiconductor decreases with a decrease in size, which is consistent with experimental data and other theoretical models. Furthermore, the study examines how surface, size, and shape affect the melting temperature of the CdS nano semiconductor and emphasises the importance of the nano semiconductor’s dimension in reducing the melting temperature. The research outcomes provide insights into the behaviour of CdS nano semiconductor at the nanoscale and can have practical applications in fields such as optoelectronics and nano semiconductor devices.
