Abstract
Abstract A previous quantum theoretical study of rosette‐motion channeling is developed assuming a realistic string potential of a Coulombic form and using a proper boundary condition. The quantization of channeling electrons is performed on the basis of a certain hypothetical, two‐dimensional atom model. Wave functions of bound states around a string and their excitation probabilities are calculated in analytical forms. The calculated channeling profiles agree fairly well with experimental ones.
