Interaction of dislocations with point defects and internal friction in superconductors

Abstract

The electrostatic interaction of dislocations with point defects in a superconductor is discussed. It is shown that the interaction changes in the superconducting transition due to a diminution of the screening capacity of the system of conduction electrons. It is pointed out that the change in the electrostatic energy of interaction of a dislocation with a point defect is supported by experimental results on the internal friction of superconductors.
