Abstract

Lexical problems constitute one of the most challenging aspects of translation due to the inherent differences between linguistic systems and cultural frameworks. Such problems arise when lexical units of the source language do not have direct or equivalent counterparts in the target language. This study investigates the nature of lexical problems in translation, identifies their main types, and examines strategies used to resolve them. The research is based on qualitative analysis of translated texts and theoretical sources. The findings demonstrate that lexical problems are context-dependent and require flexible translation strategies rather than literal equivalence. The article emphasizes the role of translator competence, cultural awareness, and contextual interpretation in achieving lexical adequacy.
