Abstract

This article examines the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching the four core English language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Drawing on established research in applied linguistics, educational technology, and computer-assisted language learning (CALL), the study analyzes how AI-based tools contribute to skill development through personalization, adaptive feedback, and learner autonomy. The methodological foundation relies on comparative analysis of empirical studies, meta-analyses, and experimental research published in indexed academic journals. The results indicate that AI technologies significantly improve language learning outcomes when aligned with pedagogical principles. The discussion highlights both the instructional potential and pedagogical limitations of AI, emphasizing the teacher’s mediating role. The article concludes that AI integration enhances four-skills instruction when applied as a supportive, not substitutive, educational tool.
