Abstract

Maintaining oral health in children and pregnant women is one of the priority tasks of modern therapeutic dentistry. These population groups are considered to be at increased risk for the development of dental diseases due to physiological, hormonal, and immunological characteristics. In children, the immaturity of the immune system and the ongoing formation of the dentofacial system contribute to the high prevalence of dental caries and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity. In pregnant women, hormonal changes, metabolic alterations, and decreased tissue resistance create favorable conditions for the progression of oral diseases.
