MILK PRODUCTIVITY OF MONTBÉLIARDE COWS IN THE THIRD AND HIGHER LACTATIONS UNDER DIFFERENT FEEDING CONDITIONS

Abstract

The article presents the milk productivity of Montbéliarde cows fed under different feeding conditions. It was found that Montbéliarde cows in the third and higher lactations fed with mixed rations produced 423.3 kg (7.75%) more milk during the lactation period compared to their counterparts fed under farm conditions. In addition, milk fat yield was higher by 14.9 kg (6.68%), milk protein yield by 12.6 kg (6.28%), and the amount of 4% fat-corrected milk by 373.4 kg (6.7%). The milk yield coefficient of cows fed with mixed rations was 982.6 kg, and the milk yield coefficient relative to 4% fat-corrected milk was 992.4 kg, which exceeded the values of cows fed under farm conditions by 46.8 kg (P > 0.999) and 38.0 kg (P > 0.999), respectively. In the experimental group, the yields of milk fat and protein calculated per 4% fat-corrected milk were higher than those of the control group by 1.2 kg (3.4%) and 1.1 kg (3.2%), respectively. Montbéliarde cows fed with mixed rations required an average of 0.88 feed units to produce 1 kg of natural-fat milk, which was 0.07 feed units less than that required by their counterparts fed under farm conditions.
