Abstract
The Cognitive Academic Language Learning Approach (CALLA) is an instructional model designed to support language development through the integration of content learning, academic language skills, and learning strategies. This article examines the main principles of integrating CALLA into reading instruction to enhance students’ reading comprehension, metacognitive awareness, and academic literacy. Emphasis is placed on strategy-based instruction, learner autonomy, and the use of authentic texts. The article highlights the relevance of CALLA in modern educational contexts and discusses its effectiveness in developing students’ reading skills.
