Abstract

This scientific article is devoted to a deep comparative analysis of phraseologisms with a somatic component in English and Uzbek from linguistic and extralinguistic perspectives. The study examines in detail the semantic structure, structural models, imagery mechanisms of phraseological units involving the names of human body parts, and the influence of cultural, historical, social, and cognitive factors on their formation. Based on descriptive, comparative, semantic, and linguocultural analysis methods, the universal and national characteristics of somatic phraseologisms are identified. The results of the study show that although somatic phraseologisms are based on common biological experience, their semantic interpretation and pragmatic use are closely related to the mentality, value system, and cultural traditions of each language. The results of the article are of theoretical and practical importance in the fields of comparative linguistics, translation studies, linguocultural studies, and foreign language teaching.
