Abstract
This article examines the pedagogical effectiveness of using games as an instructional tool to engage students in English language lessons. Drawing on established educational and methodological research, the study analyzes how game-based learning influences student motivation, participation, language acquisition, and classroom interaction. The article reviews methodological approaches to implementing games in English language teaching, evaluates empirical findings on learning outcomes, and discusses the role of games in developing communicative competence. The analysis is grounded in factual data from Uzbek pedagogical literature and foreign language teaching methodologies adapted to local educational contexts.
