Abstract

This article explores the theoretical and practical foundations of supporting pupils’ personal development in primary education. In modern educational systems, primary education plays a decisive role not only in forming basic academic skills but also in nurturing learners’ personal qualities, social competencies, emotional intelligence, and moral values. The article analyzes the concept of personal development, its components, and pedagogical approaches aimed at supporting it in the primary school context. Particular attention is paid to learner-centered education, inclusive practices, psychological support, and the role of the teacher as a facilitator of holistic development. The study highlights effective strategies, teaching methods, and learning environments that promote self-awareness, motivation, independence, creativity, and social responsibility among young learners. The article concludes that systematic support for personal development in primary education contributes to the formation of well-rounded, confident, and socially active individuals, which is a key objective of contemporary education.
