Abstract

This article examines the didactic principles of developing English language skills based on historical materials. The importance of interdisciplinary integration, communicative approach, CLIL methodology, and competence-based education is highlighted. The mechanisms of developing reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills through historical texts are analyzed. The findings demonstrate that systematic use of historical materials enhances students’ linguistic and intercultural competence.
