Abstract

The article discusses current information about actinic keratosis, the occurrence of various forms, presents generalized data from scientific research on the epidemiology of the disease, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and clinical features. The main importance is attached to insolation, preceding immunosuppression and immunodeficiency states, as well as traumatization. In conclusion, actinic keratosis is a precancerous skin condition. Epidemiological data have shown a high incidence of actinic keratosis in populations with phototypes I-II. Actinic keratosis has also been observed in populations with phototypes III-IV. Prolonged exposure of exposed skin to ultraviolet rays can lead to actinic keratosis, which in turn can lead to squamous cell carcinoma. The most common forms of actinic keratosis in the population are erythematous and hyperkeratotic.
