Abstract

Thearticleexaminesthecorrelationbetweenthetermsconceptandnotionwithintheframeworksofcognitiveonomasiologyandlinguoculturalstudies.Althoughthesetermsarefrequentlyusedinterchangeably,theirtheoreticalstatusvariessignificantlydependingondisciplinaryperspective.ThestudyanalyzesmajorinterpretativeapproachesinRussiancognitivelinguistics,linguoculturalresearch,andphilosophyoflanguage,highlightingbothconvergencesanddivergences.Particularattentionispaidtotheroleofconceptualstructuresintheprocessofnominationandtothedistinctionbetweenlogicalabstractionandculturallymarkedmentalrepresentation.Thefindingsdemonstratethatwhilethenotiontraditionallyreferstoalogicallystructuredcognitiveabstraction,theconceptfunctionsasabroadercategoryencompassingcognitive,cultural,evaluative,andsymbolicdimensions.Thearticlearguesthatintegratingcognitiveandlinguoculturalapproachesenablesamorecomprehensiveunderstandingofconceptualstructuresunderlyinglinguisticnomination
